Controversies regarding John Edgar Hoover

After Hoover’s death, he became a controversial figure. There was much evidence of power abuse violating the rules and regulations of the FBI.

People, through many sources, have claimed that Hoover had a “collection” of secret files which he used to harass and blackmail bureaucrats, top-level executives, well-known politicians, and many other highly influential personalities. Hoover used illegal means to collect all of these files and kept these files with himself illegally.

Hoover had so much power and influence and he used it to harass and even at times threaten many sitting Presidents of the United States.

He had a large collection of inappropriate pictures of celebrities and other famous personalities. He had collected them to use them for the purpose of blackmailing.

Another controversy regarding John Hoover has recently surfaced. Milli McGhee, the author of the book called Secrets Uncovered, J Edgar Hoover – Passing for White? has claimed that Hoover had black ancestors. John Hoover used his influence and his powerful position in Washington D.C to remove it from the records as he did not want anyone to know about this.
