Personal life of Roland F Bertrand

On June 11, 1923, George G. Bertrand and his wife Mary Louise Angeline Leduc welcome their youngest son, Rolland Bertrand. Rolland had four older siblings, Stella, Elmore, Lillian, and Paul.

Bertrand served in the United States Navy during World War II. After the war, he became a pipefitter and welder. He later worked as an oil field roustabout. He met Marcheline’s mother, Lois June Gouwens, while she was working as a waitress in a restaurant he frequented. They said their vows in 1949.

Rolland was a loving and supportive father to Marcheline and her two sisters, Vicki and Debbie. He encouraged his daughters to pursue their dreams and was always there for them, whether they needed help with their homework or just a shoulder to cry on.

Marcia Lynne “Marcheline” Bertrand was born on May 9, 1950, in Joliet, Illinois, to Maxine and John Bertrand. She was of French-Canadian, Irish, English, and German descent. Bertrand attended Catholic schools and graduated from high school in 1968. She briefly attended college but dropped out to pursue a career in modeling.

Bertrand began her modeling career in the early 1970s. She appeared in magazines such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, and in commercials for products such as Clairol and Maybelline. In 1974, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.

Bertrand made her film debut in 1976, in the film “Lipstick”, which starred her future husband, Jon Voight. She went on to appear in several films throughout the 1970s and 1980s, including “Looking for Mr. Goodbar”, “The Untouchables”, and “Batman Forever”.

Bertrand’s marriage to Voight ended in divorce in 1980. In 2007, she married French-born photographer Bertrand Gaulthier. Bertrand died of ovarian cancer on January 27, 2010, at the age of 59.
